CNC Brake Press Set Up/Operator

Job Description

Our client is a world class precision manufacturer of metal components and sub-assemblies that use metal cutting, forming, machining, welding, assembly and paint. They use state-of-the-art machining and fabrication techniques in a lean, self-directed work team manufacturing environment to produce high value-added, cost-effective products for their strategic partners.

Position: CNC Brake press set up/operator

Permanent after 3 months of probation

Dayshift (afternoons if needed) Overtime.

Location: Oakville

Payrate: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour to start (DOE)

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to effectively read and interpret blueprints / schematics to perform accurate set-ups.
  • Able to interpret precise measuring instruments. (radius gages, vernier, height stand) to check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications.
  • Able to set-up machines based on job requirements, using fixtures, backstop adjustments, ram adjustments etc.
  • Able to make adjustments to programs and tooling to produce quality product.
  • Able to load/unload tooling and set-up equipment.
  • Must have good communication skills - excellent command of the English language.
  • Ability to train and mentor new and existing staff in the brake press department.
  • Mathematically inclined
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Cincinnati and Pacific brake presses an asset.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma – good Math and Mechanical Drawing skills.
  • 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with forklift, jib/overhead cranes are an asset.
  • Physically capable of performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position including regular lifting and carrying of 5-23 kgs.
  • Ability to work safe and independently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Written and oral communication in English.
