Position: Shipping Supervisor

Dayshift: 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri

Payrate: DOE

Our client is one of the largest manufacturers/distributors of HVAC products and plumbing supplies. They are looking for a Shipping Supervisor to join their team

Position function:

This position exists to ensure the well running of the Shipping/Receiving function by supervising the work of the shippers/receivers, ensuring the quality and accuracy of shipments and dealing with issues with shipments.

 Organization Summary:

The Shipping Supervisor is part of the distribution function within the Operations department at Imperial manufacturing Group.

 Working Relationships:

This position interacts primarily with the Vice-President-Manufacturing for day-to-day direction, training and meeting required levels of work.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assigning job orders to shippers/receivers by order of priority
  • Dealing/troubleshooting with problems with orders i.e. problems with address, back orders, problems with paperwork, problem with courier companies, etc.
  • Leading, coaching, supporting, motivating, recognizing and managing employees in their work; and dealing with people issues; bringing up any significant issues to the Vice-President-Manufacturing.
  • Investigate discrepancies regarding physical and electronic inventory, missing products in load, etc.
  • Ensuring all reach-truck operators follow all policies and procedures, including use of PPE.
  • Performing all other duties assigned by the Vice-President-Manufacturing.

Exercising Judgment/Impacts of Decisions/Consequence of Error:

This position is important to the efficient running of the warehouse area and to meet their customers need by ensuring all shippers/receivers are safe, efficient and help meet their customers' demands.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a shipping supervisory or role in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience with Lift Truck operations.
  • Being proven leader and having ability to lead and motivate a team of 10+ employees
  • Being able to tolerate a fast-paced environment
  • Proven leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP
  • Experience and ability to operate a forklift to assist in loading/unloading material.
