Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Our client is a manufacturer of sheet metal cabinetry. They are looking for a mechanical assembler to add to their team.
Position: Mechanical Assembler
Dayshift: 6:45am to 3:45pm Mon-Fri
Payrate: $22.00-23.00
Location: Milton, ON
Permanent after 3 months of probation
Duties
- Assemble quality product according to production schedules, work order specifications and maintain or improve standard times
• Proper use of air tools, hand tools and material handling carts/pump trucks
• Ensure all tools, parts and hardware is available to perform job
• Handle all product with care
• Safely package and stack product using proper supplies and methods as outlined on work instructions
• Ensure all product is tagged and labeled as required
• Perform all physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 lbs. and lifting 10 – 20lbs on a more frequent basis
• Complete all paperwork and data entry
• Follow ISO quality procedures and standards and safety procedures
• Keep work areas safe, clean and organized at all times
• Use all safety equipment supplied
• Continual performance improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned (load/unload paintline. assist with spot welding)
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experienced in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of air tools and hand tools and testing equipment
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions to carry out work order instructions; ability to read drawings is an asset
• Position requires good communication skills
• Mechanically inclined; Strong attention to detail
• Ability to perform all physical requirements, lifting up to 50 lbs. and lifting10 – 20lbs on a more frequent basis
• Ability to stand and be walking and lifting throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep up with the daily demands of production
• Willingness to learn and be trained in the job
• Ability to complete paper work as required
• Ability to work day shift, evenings, weekends and overtime as required
• Working knowledge of ISO quality standards and procedures as well as general safety procedures
• Team orientated willing to help out in other areas as needed
• Willingness to learn and be trained in the job
• Must clear a criminal backcheck
