Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
Our client, a progressive miscellaneous metal and structural steel fabricator specializing in the high-rise residential market, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities and construction equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various systems.
Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Edmonton, AB T5M 2T9
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift: 8-hour day shift, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: $40 - $45
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance tasks: inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Carry out preventive maintenance.
- Work with a sense of urgency.
- Team work is crucial.
- Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders and document repairs.
- Occasionally perform plumbing repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and activities.
- Ability to fabricate or weld parts for repairs or modifications is a plus.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Journeyman Electrician certification, experience working with PLCs, proficiency in electrical systems troubleshooting and repair, strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills.
